Luke 11:3 (ESV)
Give us each day our daily bread.
Talk About It
Jesus loves it when we talk to God and bring Him our needs. When He taught His friends to pray, Jesus showed them how to ask God for what they needed—like daily bread, which means food and all we need each day. This reminds us that God cares about every part of our lives and loves to provide for us.
But prayer isn’t just about asking for things; it’s also about trusting God to hear us and give what is best. When we pray, we’re saying we depend on God for everything. Jesus wants us to pray for our needs, to forgive others, and to trust that God is listening and answering. God is a loving Father who knows what we need before we even ask! We can pray with confidence, knowing He wants to help and provide for His children.
For Parents to Explain
Dear God, thank You that we can trust You to take care of us. Please give us what we need each day and help us trust You more. Amen.
